Public transportation

The suburban train (S-Bahn) station is located directly below the central area of Munich airport. From there, a train departs for the city center every 10 minutes. Click here for more information about suburban trains.

Fixed-price taxis

Throughout the year the ride costs €63 and a one-way trip takes about 35 minutes, depending on traffic. More about fixed-price taxis.

Rental cars

The rental car center is located in the central area of Munich Airport between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Here you’ll find the offerings of many rental car companies. Cars are returned centrally to the parking garage P6 (“Car Rental Return”). More about the rental car center at the Munich Airport.

TRAIN

Arrive right in the center of Munich.
On the Deutsche Bahn website, you’ll find all necessary information about travelling by train, including ticketing information.

Public transportation: Travelling from Munich Central Station to ICM

Nearest station to ICM: Messestadt West (U2)
The U2 subway (U-Bahn) line direction Messestadt Ost runs from 4:00 in the morning to 1:00 at night and takes you directly to the ICM. During peak travel times on weekdays, the U2 runs every 5 minutes.
Peak travel times:
07:30 - 10:10 from the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof)
15:10 - 18:55 from Messestadt West
Changes: none (direct connection)
Travel time from Central Station: approx. 18 minutes

Public transportation: Travelling from ICM to downtown Munich

From Messestadt West, take the U2 subway line direction Feldmoching to stop Sendlinger Tor.
Changes: none (direct connection)
Travel time: approx. 22 minutes

CAR

Road signs at the outskirts of town and throughout the entire city indicate the way to Messe München and the ICM (International Congress Center München).

Cars with a navigation system

Depending on which navigation system you have, you’ll find the Messe München along with the ICM in the category “event centers” or “exhibition grounds”, or under the keyword “trade fair”.

Some navigation systems allow you to select between the center’s East, West, and North entrances. In this case, the entrance you want is West.
