Instructor-Led Lab criteria

Submissions must use GPUs and must demonstrate a significant innovation or improvement in GPU computing.

The GTC Europe Content Committee will review, rate, and select submissions based on:
  • Relevance and timeliness of presentation to GPU computing.
  • Presenter credentials and expertise in the subject matter.
  • Ability to run on available platforms: Amazon's AWS GPU Instances (connection options), or a queue submission-based cluster, or the Jetson TK1 DevKit.
  • Level of lab self-containment: Instructions, code, documentation should all be available to attendees in one package.
You will be required to provide the following information in your submission:
  • Submitter's Contact Instructor-Led Labs Information: Email and phone number.
  • Workshop or Instructor-Led Lab Title: Maximum 12 words. Should be enticing and concisely tell attendees what your lab is about.
  • Format & Duration: 50-minute or 80-minute Instructor-Led Lab (maximum 3 presenters).
  • Platform Required for Lab: Choice of Amazon GPU instances: cg1.4xlarge, g2.2xlarge, g2.8xlarge; GPU Cluster (access with SSH only, job submission-based); Tegra TK1 DevKit.
  • Audience Level: Introductory; Intermediate; Advanced.
    • Introductory: Session helps attendees learn the fundamentals of a given subject area.
    • Intermediate: Some knowledge of the subject area is required. Session helps attendees enhance their knowledge of a subject area.
    • Advanced: Greatly developed knowledge of the subject area is required. Session helps attendees seeking to heighten their already advanced knowledge of a subject area.
  • Required Prerequisites: List any specific knowledge attendees must have in order to take this workshop / lab.
  • Topics: Select up to three topics from a dropdown list of pre-approved topic areas.
  • Workshop /Lab Description: Maximum 800 characters (approximately 150 words) – for use on on-line scheduler, mobile app and other online marketing tools. The Description must explain what the attendee will learn how to do as a result of attending your workshop / lab. The lab must show people HOW to do things, not just a tour of features. The Lab Description must state what problems attendees will learn how to solve.
  • Extended Abstract & Results: Maximum 3000 characters (approximately 500 words) – provide details on what your lab is about including what attendees will have learned to do from your lab that will help the Content Committee better understand the technical merits of your lab. The Extended Abstract will not be published.
  • Instructor's Information: Email and phone number (can be different from submitter's information).
  • Instructor Biography: Maximum 100 words.
  • Instructor Headshot: No less than 1800x2700px and no more than 2400x3000px. Maximum file size: 5MB.
  • Permission to Webcast and/or Record: In order to be considered we need your confirmation of whether we can or cannot record and/or webcast your presentation.
  • Instructor Agreement: In order to be considered for a lab the Presenter Agreement must be completed.
  • Previous Experiences Teaching Lab: List the date(s) and venue(s) this lab has been taught.
  • Supporting Material: Supporting materials provided assist the Content Review Committee in better understanding your work. Provide supplemental information that supports your session proposal. Additional materials may include white papers, research work, videos, images, demos, proof of concept, etc.
